For Fall/Winter 2016 season, designer Christina Economou pairs classic silhouettes with luxe, unexpected fabrics to create a collection that references both traditionalism and futurism.

Christina Economou plays on the contradictions of sight and touch throughout the collection. For example, Economou styles the navy Puffer Jacket with green camo brocade culottes. The Puffer Jacket looks substantial but, physically, it is super lightweight.

Christina Economou offers versatile statement coats in a range of fabrics including mohair, corduroy, fringed wool and faux sheepskin. She layers a floor length mohair coat over a shimmering ankle-length maxi dress, to create a look that reflects both drama and ease.

The Stellar print, a reference to sci-fi and the cosmos, is a prominent, original print used throughout the collection this season. This print takes the form of pocket and peplum shirts, slip and cape dresses, and maxi skirts, often styled with substantial, textured pieces for contrast.

In tandem with these shifts in weight, length and proportion, Economou also provides punctuations of simplicity. A velvet slip top tucked into high waist velvet trousers is sophisticated and seductive.

The Christina Economou Fall/Winter 2016 Collection strikes a compelling balance between the past and the future. By utilizing traditional fabrics such as brocade and velvet in combination with clean, minimal and angular silhouettes, designer Christina Economou offers a fresh perspective on dressing for the modern woman.
